Welcome to DUNOON
Dunoon is a popular waterfront town over looking the Firth of Clyde, it's the gateway to the Cowal Peninsula and one of the most popular destinations for holidaymakers during the steamboat age.
Today Dunoon is very much still a pretty, clean, bustling and industrious town, it has excellent ferry connections to Gourock and the Waverly paddle steamer regularly brings day trippers to the town during the spring and summer months.
There are an astonishing 10 churches in Dunoon and the immediate surrounding region including St Muns, Dunoon Baptist and Strone.

Cowal Highland Gathering
One of the most popular events in Argyll's calendar is held at Dunoon, the Cowal Highland Gathering (traditional highland games) is a large games attracting contestants and spectators from all over the world along with some of the best local businesses, food and entertainment.
Dunoon Pier
Dunoon pier is one of the oldest structures at the town originally built in 1835 and rebuilt as it is today 60 years later in 1895. At the very head of the pier is the town's popular hall venue called the Queen's Hall with excellent technical features and been the venue for many popular commercial musicians.
Castle Toward
Just south of Dunoon is the captivating Castle Toward, formerly the home of clan Lamont and used as a popular outdoor education and activity centre.
Benmore Gardens
If horticulture is of interest, Benmore Gardens features a popular arboretum, the 150 acre garden estate features some of the tallest trees in the UK including the famous giant redwoods more commonly found at parks across the Atlantic.
